Day 31 - A good day for a swim

After our walk around lake Tuggers today we met up with Julia, Seb, Frida, Paige and Piper for a swim at Queanbeyan pool. It was another warm one so a good day for a swim. Its good to know that Hunter isnt the only crazy one that loves racing around the pool. But thankfully today Hunter was enjoying playing with Piper so a little less crazy then normal, but poor Piper had to put up with Hunter not leaving her alone.
Mackenzie was quite happy to sit around and hang with Frida and surprised me by not trying to follow her brother around everywhere. Frida is quite the poser and was easy to get a pic of her smiling at the camera, where I only managed to get one pic of Miss Mack even looking at the camera with no smile.

Day 30 - Just another day

Today was just another day. Nothing particularly exciting happened.I did think that Yay Hunter was going to start taking himself off to the toilet on his own when I found him on the toilet having obviously having an accident all over the toilet floor while trying to remove his undies. But then we got home it was just accident after accident, on top of way too much being rough with Mackenzie.
He did have a helpful time at the shops where he insisted that he carry the basket while I pushed Mackenzie in the pram. When the basket got too heavy he just pushed it all around coles on the floor. Was very cute but unfortunately couldn't get a pic as I had emptied my phone to hand in to telstra to send to be fixed. So I only got a pic of Mackenzie giving her very tired self a bottle while Hunter had a bath and I cleaned up another accident.
We'll try for a less frustrating day tomorrow.

Day 28 - Organized chaos

Before and after a lovely dinner at Owen & Gen's while the mischief makers slept we finally got around to tackling the built in cupboard in our room and the linen cupboard.
Ever since the day we moved into this house over a year and a half ago everything was just dirt of chucked in both cupboards and then ignored. Today the chaos became a little more tamed after Glenn got a heap of plastic tubs. We even managed to fit all the hand me downs that are to big for Mackenzie in the tubs and in the linen cupboard and out of the bottom of her cupboard. Now her hanging clothes won't be all scrunched up.

Day 27 - Swinging good time

Lachlan was visiting today so we headed over to Gran & Grumps so the two boys could play. It's so nice to see the boys finally starting to play together so well. They ran around each pushing a push car for ages, being mischievous going down if the garage that they weren't supposed to, playing with the water table, swinging and watching DVDs. Both such cheeky boys!

Day 26 - Engaging storm

So day was Australia Day and the kiddies went to hang out with nan & pop and Aunty Kym whole we head to Supa and Stace's engagement party. Well if rain means luck they are in for a lot of luck as it stormed just after they did speeches. The tarps were set up and most of us settled in again outside and then it all started again and worse. It was pretty wild, ripping the tarps away from the fence, gutter and even apparently pulling down a down pipe. So we all made ourselves comfortable inside with small hanging out in the kitchen and the rest of us finding somewhere on the floor in the lounge room to get comfy.
Glenn headed to pick up the kiddies around their bed time so people could see them that hadn't seen them in ages if not at all in person.
It was so good to see so many of our old cr friends, they are wonderful people and we really must find time to catch up more in the future.

Day 25 - Welcome Torin!

While having my morning coffee this morning and checking out my Facebook I came across the news that Tara was having a c-section today. And then this afternoon this photo arrived with the news that the Daly's welcomed another little boy to the world today. So exciting. Welcome to the world Torin Joseph! I know it will be a long time before we meet but I'm really looking forward to seeing lots of pics of you and your big bro Brig growing up. A massive congrats Daly's on your pervious new addition. Cherish every second as it seems to fly by every second!

Day 24 - It's over

While walking this morning Glenn called to say the doctor had said that his little snip worked, so definitely no more bubs for us.
And also little Miss Mack won't feed anymore without biting me so my feeding days are apparently over just like that. I'm a bit sad about it, but I guess the upside is I completely have my body back to myself for the first time in over 3 years.
Lucky a visit to the pool with Min and Miss Maddie in the afternoon helped distract me. Hunter kept chasing older girls around and still their toys and Miss Mack wasn't real interested in the water today. Miss Maddie just lived going up and down the stairs into the pool.

Day 23 - On track

Third day of protein only down (again) and another walk around Tuggers lake. I'm feeling much more on track this week, I would love to have lost a dress size by my birthday in exactly a months time. Fingers crossed.
Today's pic is off miss Mack after she bumped the gate closed and she climbed up to her feet while I was taking hunter to the toilet before heading out to grab some groceries. I have I feeling this one is going to be crazier than her brother. She was always diving over the massive gorilla her Uncle Beau and Aunty Erin got her for Christmas.

Day 22 - Getting on track

So it turns out I haven't been so good in my resolve to get fit and healthy and lose weight. But I swear this the week I get back on track, and so far so good. Meet Gen and Alice for a walk around Tuggers lake this morning for a big trek in the heat (and boy did it get hot fast). Was so proud of Hunter, no accidents even though I was sure we may have an issue with such a big walk.
Today's pic is of Gen trying to see if Alice would suck on a chip, but she was too interested in smiling at Hunter. Oh by the way I was good and waited to get home to a can of tuna for lunch! ;)

Day 21 - A day of play

I managed to drag my butt off to pram walking this morning after the disappointment of the lack of rain to stop me. Today was a struggle to climb that last hill which shows me I have really fallen behind in my plan for a fitter me this year. Time to get serious!
Enjoyed a catch up at michel's after the walk where hunter ran around like a manic chasing the others and shocked me by actually asking to go wee while out and with distractions. Very proud moment for me!
After grabbing a few things from woolies heads home where amazingly both kiddies transferred to their beds for a decent nap before our planned play date at Gina's. I took advantage of this nap to get stuck into folding all the washing I'd gotten behind on and then got carried away and pulled out all my maternity clothes and too big clothes that I will NEVER need again.
Then we headed off to Gina's for put play date and were also joined by Pip & Dean. It was a nice relaxing end to the afternoon after sweating my but off in our sauna of a room. It's so nice how well the kiddies play these days.
Today's pic is of Dean serenading the others with his abc's. Wonderful!

Day 20 - Drop time

Was a quite stay at home day today.
I finally decided to download the game angry birds to see whats so special about it. Seems it just gets the stubborn people addicted as I wasn't going to give up until I got through each level.
The main thing that needed to be accomplished this weekend was that Glenn had to drop Mackenzie's cot down, which he did about an hour before her bed time tonight. The little miss is getting quite good at getting to her feet and standing there and I can already see she is going to be a climber. Good times ahead.

Saturday, 19 January 2013

Day 19 - Party time!

We were lucky enough to have helped celebrate Seff's first birthday today. It was party time, the kiddies all played well together, the cake was awesome and Hunter managed to hit his head and mark it for the third time in as many weekends.
Thankfully it was a much cooler day for it as well.

Friday, 18 January 2013

Day 18 - Standing up

Had a lovely morning catch up with Julia, Seb and Miss Frida. We definitely both have our hands full these days when we have coffee out. Coffees in sound so much more relaxing for the future.
Whilst at home Miss Mackenzie is forever getting more adventurous by loving being on her feet and beginning to climb up against stuff. She really needs to master crawling backwards so when she gets stuck going in under chairs she can just back up.

Day 17 - Pain & sharing

Today was implanon removal day, my body clearly hasn't been a fan. While sitting waiting to be called into the surgery room I felt physically sick as every time I've had locals in the past ( 2x child birth and having the implanon put in) it has been awful. So I was dreading this morning so much but surprisingly it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. All I can say is thank god it's done and hopefully my body will get back into wack ASAP!
When I went to pick up the kiddies from mum's she had just peeled and separated a mandarin for Hunter to eat. He was clearly feeling very sharing as we all had to have a piece, including Mackenzie. I'm not sure Hunter loved food as much as she does.

Day 16 - Teddies

Today we met Min & Maddie out at Gunghlin to check out stufflers and geab some lunch. It's where you choose a teddy and they stuff it for you and you can choose an outfit for them. I wanted to do something different for Hunter as he had been so good with his toilet training. I also grabbed one for Mackenzie, though she's a big young to be into teddies so hunter has sort of claimed both and carried them around the house with him for the rest of the afternoon.
Hunter was also good with walking around holding on to the pram for most of it and I thought he would be exhausted and have a brilliant sleep when we got home. But not, seems both kiddies were overtired from lack of sleep the night before.

Day 15 - Mirror Mirror

Now that Mackenzie is crawling her world is expanding and she has finally figured out today that she can leave the living room on her own.
She discovered the mirror wardrobe doors in our bedroom today, and has been trying to figure out how to get to mirror Mack. She also managed to climb up to stand against the couch, it's scary how quickly these milestones seem to come once they get started. No more little baby for us.

Day 14 - Crazy weather

Today started off with hanging out washing seeing as I lost the use of my laundry over the weekend during the changing the fish tank. After the heat wave we've just had I would never have thought it would have been so chilly this morning, it felt like I was hanging washing out on a winters morning not a summers morning. So I decided to check the forecast for the week and as of tomorrow it's warming up again to get up to 37degrees on Friday only to drop 10 degrees on the Saturday. No wonder people are getting colds right in the middle of summer.
Seriously crazy weather!

Day 13 - Yay a Dyson!

After trying to vaccum where the the couch was sitting when it was moved the change the tv cabinets over and I nearly through the vaccum straight out the front door as it was so useless. So today we got a new one, a Dyson. It is AWESOME. It was a work out for my arm as the suction was so strong.
Also we finished of putting all of the stuff in the new cabinet after the aerial cord was replaced. Looks fantastic.

Day 12 - Exciting new things

Where do I begin, the day started with Glenn going off to finally register the trailer and bringing me back a pantry for my kitchen. That just made my day there and then. It's been over a year and a half since we moved into this house that had barely any kitchen cupboards or bench space and definitely nothing you would call a pantry. Hunter even saved daddy by pointing out making drill noises that he missed a couple of screws during assembly.
And then my day got even more exciting as Miss Mackenzie started to crawl, it's seems like she has been so close to doing it but hasn't, that it took I few times for me to actually believe it was happening. Very clever girl and excited yet scared mummy with now two on the go.
And the third for the day is the new but second hand monstrous tv cabinet we got today to fit the new tv into.
It has been one busy crazy day. Looking forward to everything being finished off and tidied up tomorrow.

Day 11 - No accidents

Today seemed really busy even though it was my quietest day all week. I think that was due to taking Hunter on his first outing to the shops without a nappy on. I was very nervous and kept taking him to the toilet and he wouldn't do anything. Amazingly though we were out for two and a half hours and there were no accidents. Well done little man, very proud of you.
Pic is just another pic of both my kiddies having a nice play together after dinner. Mackenzie idolizes her big brother.

Day 10 - Skin issues

I had forgotten to take a pic today, so here is the new cream that was prescribed for Mackenzie's skin issues.
It is the latest in a long line of treatment creams that we have tried for her eczema/ dermatitis or whatever it may be.
How Hunter a boy got the beautiful skin, hair and eye lashes and poor Miss Mack is left with sensitive crappy skin, fluffy soft fine straight hair and much shorter eyelashes seems completely unfair.
The poor thing looks terrible as the heat wave we have had has majorly flared it up. Fingers crossed this is the one!

Day 9 - Exhausting

Today was a lot cooler thankfully and would have helped a lot with the fires.
The morning started off super busy starting with Mackenzie's weigh in at the Jerra community centre. She weighs in at 9mths at 7.65kgs which is just above the 10th percentile and is 79cms long which is just above the 25th percentile. It's still hard to believe how different she is to Hunter.
After that was an extremely quick duck into iga before getting home to give Mackenzie breakfast ten minutes before my client was due, thankfully she went straight down to sleep so everything went quickly and smoothly so I could get some tidying up down before Min & Maddie and Nyree & Seff showed up for lunch and a play. I think Mackenzie out ate all three older kiddies.
Pics are of my kiddies passed put after their very busy morning and early afternoon. Exhausted and peaceful. Just the way I like them. ;)

Day 8 - Heat, wind & fires.

Last night warnings went out for catastrophic fire conditions for today. With high temps and winds and grass fires starting all over NSW and Tassie on fire it's feeling a little like when the the fires were happening back in Jan 2003.
All the news and Facebook are alive with news and warnings. Thinking of all those affected and may there not be too many more loss of lives that have already happened in Tas.
Pics are of a fire between braidwood and bungendore that is out of control over 1000 hectares and the other is of bush and grass fires in the areas surrounding Queanbeyan.

Day 7 - Pool & Coffee

We had a lovely start to the day. Firstly we meet Gina, Ashlyn & Soairse and Pip & Dean at the pool for a paddle in the toddler pool, which included Hunter introducing Mackenzie to the mushroom water fall thingy which I'm not sure she was fussed on.
Then the kiddies and I met Gina and the girls at Michel's in riverside for a coffee while I tried to remember why (besides getting something for dinner) I needed to go to riverside in the first place. Which I did remember in the end.
The pics I choose for today are of Ashlyn being such a little lady drinking her baby chino and Hunter just being SUCH a boy!

Day 6 - Early Birthday Present

As our TV has been playing up the last few days we went to price TVs today. Not only did we end up coming home with a new bigger TV but with my birthday present even though its over a month away. I love it! Can't wait to finish my two fifty shades books so I can purchase some ebooks to read on it.
Also worth mentioning is how well Glenn measured the space we could fit the tv in. Ummm he was a fair way off, the TV is too big, but its nice having a bigger one.

Saturday, 5 January 2013

Day 5 - Cooling Down.

Today was a 39 degree day, a very hot Canberra day. I took Hunter and Miss Mackenzie I Gran and Grump's house to have a play with Lachlan who is visiting for the weekend. Which started with Mackenzie going down for her afternoon nap and the boys hopping in a cool bath with icy poles.
After the boys had gotten over the bath the next best thing was water play at the water table where they drenched themselves. And they spent time going between there and the sand and gravel pile and putting dirt and gravel down grump's new garage drain. It was a pleasant afternoons play between the too cousins.

Day 4 - Crappy night & sibling love!

Last night was not a good night, luckily I had arranged to meet week old Rowan. He is so tiny and precious and not only did I get a cuddle but I also got to give him a bottle while Hunter and Jordan played and Mackenzie longingly looked on wishing she could join the boys in their craziness.
Not only had I looked forward to cuddles but I was also looking forward to my two kiddies being worn out from playing and transferring asleep from the car to bed and cot and my then expected quiet time. Silly me, it was not to be. My two were so overtired from their crappy night they flat out refused until late afternoon. That was fun. Not really.
When they both woke and had dinner they had an amazing play and I could see the love they already have for each other. The second pic is after Hunter had told me to put Mackenzie on his couch and he fetched her his Mater and ran and got himself his lightening McQueen and laid down beside her for some play. This is what makes the crappy nights so worth while. Love you little man and little miss. xx

Day 3 - Protein Only

As the new year is always time of New Years resolutions and change I'm on my last day (of three straight days) of protein only six times a day. This pic is of my protein choc chip cookie I'm treating myself to at the end of the night.
Here's to a happier, fitter and healthier me for 2013!

Day 2 - Foot Prints

As Hunter has previously had his foot prints done around Christmas his first two christmas's I decided to keep up tradition. We met up with Min and Maddie at Nyree's and did a page of foot prints of Maddie, Seff, Hunter and Mackenzie. Some were very successful, others not so much.

Happy New Year! Day 1!

So thanks to Cass I'm now going to give this ago, a new year a new hobble / obsession. ;)
I'll start with a pic of beautiful Miss Mack, my very clever girl. Though not getting up to stand by herself she is quiet steady once up there and very proud of herself. I'm looking forward to all the major mile stones she'll hit this year.
